MEGACON ORLANDO –  FEBRUARY 2024

Handsome Squidward, Brain and Greta the Gremlins, and Calibos from Clash of the Titans.

We were back at MEGACON ORLANDO! This year we had 2 panels on the MEGACON Creator Stage. VAMP had our dear friends and amazing artists, Rocco Gaglioti and Chris Osorio, who joined us for our first panel.  Using some of our favorite EBA Performance Makeup products, on Friday Rocco and Chris created a realistic injury demo using Out of Kit prosaide transfers and Autonomousfx prosthetics.

On Saturday, Rocco Gaglioti and Chris Osorio applied and painted RBFX prosthetics to create a sultry crocodile temptress.

In the Community Zone we gave attendees an insider look behind the scenes of special effects and creature creation. Every day our graduates and staff showcased their skills with a little bit of everything; out of kit techniques, beauty applications, foam prosthetic applications, prosaide transfer applications, airbrushing, and encapsulated silicone prosthetic applications.

Star Wars Sith character, encapsulated silicone prosthetics sculpted and applied by VAMP graduate, Valeria Arango.

Yellow Jackets character, out of kit techniques applied by VAMP graduate, Gerardo Costa.

Goddess Persephone, Morphstore foam latex prosthetics. Applied, painted, and costumed by VAMP graduate Fatima Serrate.

The Torn Prince from 13 Ghosts movie, foam latex prosthetics. Sculpted, applied, and painted by VAMP graduate Jackie Coleman.

Alien cocktail waitress, foam latex prosthetics. Applied and painted by VAMP graduate Summer Cirone.

The Lost Girls spin from The Lost Boys movie, foam latex prosthetics. Sculpted, applied and painted by VAMP graduates Frankie Kennedy and Lindsey Smith.

Handsome Squidward, foam latex prosthetics. Sculpted, applied and painted by VAMP graduate Allie Thomas.

Calibos inspired from Clash of the Titans, foam latex cowl and prosthetics. Sculpted, applied and painted by instructor by Brian Mahoney. Assisted by instructor Osiris Rivera.

For our second panel on Sunday we had the pleasure of showcasing the amazing talent of both of our Modern Effects Makeup Artistry instructors and our awesome School Owner. Brian Mahoney sculpted, casted, painted and applied foam latex prosthetics, and custom character dentures to create Brain from The Gremlins movie. Osiris Rivera sculpted, painted and applied foam latex cowl and prosthetics; assisted by VAMP Owner Heather Eisner with beauty makeup, wig, and costuming done by Heather Eisner.  Guests on Sunday had a great time posing for photos with our finished monsters, and as always, we loved every minute of it!

The VAMP team, our students, and our graduates always have fun at MEGACON and can’t wait to attend again!
