2024 Instructors

Each program will be taught by different instructors.  This year we are excited to announce some new instructors for the camp:  seasonal Universal Orlando makeup artist and VAMP team member Fatima Serrate as well as full time Universal Orlando makeup artists and IATSE Local 798 members Angela Pugliese and Dakota Rogers.  VAMP’s Modern Effects Makeup Artistry instructors will also be joining our summer program teaching lineup: Brian Mahoney and Osiris Rivera, both of whom are IATSE Local 798 Union Members and have spent over 10 years each as makeup artists at Universal Orlando Resort bringing characters at Halloween Horror Nights and Grinchmas to life.

TEEN SUMMER CAMP 2024:  The wait is over!  We are thrilled to announce our 2024 VAMP Teen Summer Camp!  This year we are offering 3 different classes which will run June 10-June 14.  These classes may be taken separately, or as one continuous program.  This year, we are excited to welcome several Universal Orlando Makeup Artists as instructors in addition to our Modern Effects Makeup Artistry instructors.  Students who book for all 5 days of the camp will receive a $150 discount* off the total program price, as space allows.

2024 CLASSES:

TRANSFORMATIVE FACE PAINT, June 10 & 11

ONLY 5 SEATS REMAIN IN THIS CLASS

TRANSFORMATIVE FACE PAINT, 2 Days: June 10 & 11 ($675)—The first class will be a two-day seminar dedicated to full scale transformative face painting taught by Universal Orlando Makeup Artist, Fatima Serrate.  Students will learn how to create an over the top looks on themselves from the shoulders up.  Day one will cover the basics of high contrast face and body painting while learning the process of applying these detailed pieces of art step-by-step.  Day two will be the student’s choice of design, guided by the instructor.  For students who utilize social media, we will also incorporate filming cuts and transitions to create a video of each student’s progress.  Their clips will be combined to showcase their complete look.  Students will receive a makeup kit with face paints, eyeshadows, brushes, and more.  Check out Fatima’s work on her website or on Instagram @sfxfafi!

GRAPHIC LINER AND FANTASY EYES, JUNE 12

GRAPHIC LINER AND FANTASY EYES, 1 Day: June 12 ($400) — The second class will be a one day seminar dedicated to technical eyeliner and fantastic eye designs.  This is our first beauty makeup teen class and we are proud to announce that this program will be taught by Orlando based makeup artists Dakota Rogers and Angela Pugliese.  Dakota and Angela are both full time makeup artists for Universal Orlando, as well as IATSE Local 798 Union Members.  They have designed looks for Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Mardi Gras, and help bring Universal characters like Jack the Clown, the Grinch, and Dr. Oddfellow to life.  Attendees will receive a makeup kit including brushes, colorful eyeshadows, gel eyeliners, false lashes and more.  Check out Dakota’s and Angela’s Instagram profiles to view their work: @Dakotarogersmakeup and @Angelapugliesemakeup.

INJURY MAKEUP, TRANSFER PROSTHETICS, SFX GORE, AND ALIEN SLIME, June 13 & 14

ONLY 5 SEATS REMAIN IN THIS CLASS

INJURY MAKEUP, TRANSFER PROSTHETICS, SFX GORE, AND ALIEN SLIME, 2 Days: June 13 & 14 ($720)— The final class will be a two-day seminar on injury makeup, a favorite of our attendees!  On the first day, students will learn the basics of applying and creating faux injuries such as cuts, scrapes, large lacerations, bruises, burns, and other realistic maladies both from scratch and by applying transfer prosthetics used in film, television, and haunted attractions.  On the second day students will learn all about making their own fake blood recipes, practice applying transfer prosthetics, and find out how to make alien slime used in movies.  This class will be taught by VAMP’s Modern Effects Makeup Artistry instructors, and IATSE Local 798 members Brian Mahoney and Osiris Rivera.  Everyone will receive a makeup kit including an alcohol palette, 2-part silicone, blood, brushes and more to complete the looks and to take home.  To view some of their work, visit Brian’s and Osiris’ Instagram profiles: @brian__mahoney and @erikvikin8.

Each class will start at 9AM and end at 4PM and be held at our facilities at 5800 Hansel Ave Orlando, FL. There will be a scheduled lunch break 12-12:30 PM. Room and board will not be provided so be sure to make appropriate accommodations and pack a lunch as well as snacks if desired.

Only the teens enrolled in the classes will be allowed to participate.  Parents may not be present inside the teaching rooms.  Each class will be a hands-on self application of the material taught.

The total cost of each class includes a kit to take home of high end makeup materials curated specially for the curriculum.  A non-refundable retainer of $300 is required  at the time of booking to reserve your seat and goes towards the total cost of the classes you select.  Invoices for the tuition balance will be emailed to the email address provided during the application process, and may be paid online via ACH transfer or credit card no later than May 31, 2024.  Guardians will also receive an email with minor release forms that must be returned prior to the first day of their first class in order to participate in the programs.  Students will be practicing and applying their looks to themselves.

All of these programs are for individuals enrolled in middle school or high school for the 2024-2025 school year**.  Our summer session is very limited and is first-come-first-serve!  Teen classes do fill up, so please plan accordingly.  If you have questions please email info@vampfx.com or call us at 407-601-2894.

* The total cost of the 3 programs before the discount is $1,795.   With the $150 discount applied, the cost will be $1,645.  Each class is first-come-first-serve and may be booked separately.  Once any of the programs offered have reached capacity this offer will no longer be available.

**If you are interested in classes for a child outside of this age range, we request your patience as we plan and implement new programs.  We are a small but dedicated team and are doing our best to serve all aspiring artists as time allows.
